Phase II workshops are appropriate for those who have attended multiple Phase I workshops and feel like they have mastered the concepts presented there. Phase I is meant to provide participants with growing awareness of historical and institutional racism and an analysis of how systemic racism is maintained and manifested in our contemporary society. Once participants have had the opportunity to apply this analysis to the institutions and organizations where they work, they may be ready to consider how to move from analysis to action. Phase II helps participants become stronger in developing a root cause analysis to problems of racism in their institutions and to consider what appropriate responses might be.
